Even though the number of relevant articles on trafficking prevention and new perspectives for vulnerable population segments has increased, these issues have not become a priority for major national newspapers. This is the major conclusion of the second monitoring report, which was produced by a team of experts from the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) in the framework of the project "New Perspectives for Women." Insufficient diversity of sources and journalistic genres used, lack of follow-up stories and solutions suggested to victims were cited as the major coverage problems. The monitoring analyzes the coverage of human trafficking, prevention thereof, as well as the way Moldovan media report about the major facets of the NPW project. All articles featuring aspects of internal and external human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution, forced labor, begging and petty crime, as well as organ harvesting are analysed, along with activities/projects aimed to combat these phenomena and provide new opportunities to vulnerable population segments. Both the content features of articles and types of journalistic article processing are studied. Quarterly monitoring reports are produced in Romanian, Russian, and English.
